The Whitley, Hawne, Halesowen

As mentioned below this is another excellent Black Country Ales pub with two bars one on the left and one on the right. I went in the right bar which was a long narrow carpeted room that was empty on an early Saturday afternoon. There was a TV showing a football match at the end but it wasn't too intrusive. The serving area separates the two bars and I imagine that the busier bar across it has a similar layout. There were three hand pumps in the bar I was in which had (unusually for a BCA pub) Banks's Mild and the two BCA beers BFG & Fireside. Other beers were Goddard's Starboard, Wincle Wibbly Wallaby and Derventio Winter King. I went for the Wibbly Wallaby (£3.00) and Winter King (£3.20) both of which were in excellent condition. This may not be a "beer festival" BCA pub but the quality of the beer makes up for the lack of quantity. It's well worth a visit.

Another splendid Black Country pub and well worth a visit. The main bar and lounge is on the left, with a smaller lounge area on the right with servery. There were a good few locals in the main lounge on our visit and we were made most welcome and soon joined in the banter. This is a very well kept pub, serving great beer. Black Country Pig on the Wall was my choice.
