The Crown, Birmingham

An exuberant Victorian exterior but the interior is much, much less so having been opened out with the loss of most period features and their replacement with big screens etc. The entrance corridor leads past a lower level area with modern chairs among a mix of old and new tables. Further on is the counter which has been severely savaged, opposite is a raised area of sofas and low tables and at the back the pool tables and more low leather sofas as described by BF. The paintwork is still as tatty and the beer, an odd mix from Greene King and Wye Valley (!) in less than average condition.

great range of beers in this very attractive pub - a definite favourite in town
