The London House, Rugby

A cracking little place that is very much a fan of ska music of the late 70s and early 80s. Its an open plan place thats sort of U-shaped. Lots of ska memorabilia dotted around, so if you know your Specials, Beat, Selector stuff you'll get it. Sadly there are 4 handpumps on the bar but only 1 ale on, which apparently was their 'own' beer. Despite that I liked it.

A very long established Marstons house which has, over the years, had periods of serving very decent Pedigree. The focus is very much on music with the walls adorned with posters and memorabilia most of which reference ska and reggae which makes for an interesting interior. Also worth noting the table football and pinball machine. As mentioned, it does have something of a local feel and we fell into conversation almost immediately. The crowd may look slightly rough around the edges but they are friendly and welcoming. Never judge a book... Six handpumps all had Hobgoblin clips on and the locals explained that the landlord doesn't have a choice in what he is supplied by Marstons. It's a characterful spot let down by it's beer.
