Traditional corner pub with a 70s refit kept well; wonky beams, woodchip wallpaper, red fabric banquettes, heraldic coats of arms on the lower servery. Proper fire on the go. Nine pumps (!) with three cask on - Marstons Pedigree, Wainwright Gold (NBSS 1.5, farty) and Amber (3). I liked the fabric of the pub, shame about the inconsistent ale quality (perhaps less is more…). I’d give it another go should I find myself back in town again. 6.5

This is a decent looking pub with plenty of hanging baskets outside. Once inside here the pub is now been opened up and has seating on different levels,the far end of the pub is for diners. There were about 10 pumps on the bar and all the beers were from the Marstons range i had a drink of Marstons Pedigree and this was not a bad drink i also saw bank's Bitter,Snecklifter from Jennings plus a Jennings seasonal and the was also a Davenports beer but car'nt remember the name. The pub was very busy and fairly smart inside i would be happy to go in here again.
