The Green Man, Kenilworth

The Green Man is a little way out of the town centre. It's an Ember Inns pub with a pay and display car park. I was greeted by a waitress who took various details, in addition to having to use the NHS App. She invited me to download the Ember Inns app to order. Apparently this would help with future visits, but I advised that QR codes would not work with my phone! Just 2 other customers were present when I arrived. Despite plenty of spare seating, I was given a table next to them and their choice language. With only 2 real ales on, I was also less than impressed with the beer range. Sharp's Doom Bar or Black Sheep Twilighter was the choice. No real cider was offered either. The Twilighter was drinkable, but I doubt the Ember Inns app will come in too useful any time in the near future.

Decent Ember Inn with a good choice of ales including Ember (Black Sheep) Pale Ale, Cotleigh Tawny Owl, Hopback Summer Lightning and Purity Ubu. All 3 we tried were in good shape and a Camra discount is available. I don't mind Ember Inns because although they are geared towards food there is usually a decent drinking area, a good choice of beers and a discount. Not sure what happened to Danny (below) but no plastic glasses for me!! Worth a visit.
