The Windmill, Mitcham

This is a small, low-ceilinged pub looking out to Mitcham Common, over the road. The internal layout is fairly typical – the bar counter is on the left with a bit of a drinking area in front of it, opening up to the right and to the rear. There’s a dartboard in the bar area on the left, over the fireplace, and a large TV screen on the back wall on the right. It’s carpeted throughout, with furnishings of banquette seating and normal tables and chairs. There’s an outside covered area to the right of the pub, presumably for use by smokers. This is another Young’s house, with the Winter Warmer coming in at £2.90 a pint. I didn’t see any food on offer. This is a comfortable and friendly little pub. The only negative element to my visit was a small group of blokes in the front bar, who only seemed to know a single adjective, beginning with “F”. Nevertheless, I would like to be able to pay a return visit.
