Decent sized country pub, comprising several rooms with some interesting features, and a beer patio and garden to the rear. I fear that may have made me sound like an estate agent. My Sunday evening visit found four ale pumps, populated with the local Shere Drop (a good pint at £3.50), Directors, GK IPA, and the fourth with a reversed Doombar clip. The menu offered an uninteresting selection of mains from around £9.25 to 12 quid, and I didn’t eat here. There were two other customers here at the time, one reading the paper and the other watching the TV. Service was okay, but like previous reviewer I didn’t find the pub had a welcoming feel to it. Signs inside the pub call it the ‘King Billy’, and promise quiz nights and live music nights. My overall impression is that this place tried to be a destination pub, but when that didn’t really work it started trying to be a local again. I hope they are busier the rest of the week.

A nice pint from a local brewery and an interesting interior, but not especially welcoming.
