The Barley Mow, Epsom

Rustic, back street pub made up of three knocked together cottages. It is possible to enter from a back alley and through the beer garden - which may well be the quickest way if coming from town. Very nice country pub feel inside, with small, low ceiling rooms and as expected, a lot of horsey paraphernalia. Good Beer Guide 2026 and the ESB (£5.70)_was in fine condition.

The beer garden makes a handy entrance if you're approaching this Fuller's pub from the town centre via the footpath off the Upper High Street. 6 hand pumps offered a 3-up choice of Asahi London Pride or one of ESB, leaving two out of action. Kegs included Neck Oil, a Tiny Rebel Pale, Cornish Orchards cider plus a couple of lagers. There were plenty of food options, with orders regularly heading outside, but that wasn't the motivation for my visit. Cool (in temperature) and peaceful inside on a recent warm lunchtime, it's a perfectly reasonable option.
