Bear & Pheasant, Stafford

A terraced little half undressed brick and half white rendered pub, with a small front patio. The interior is a single room, all in white with a red ceiling, with some red arches that separate a games area from the main part of the room. This area has darts, pool, a TV – with athletics on and a brick fireplace feature. The main part had fakey beams, a few prints on the walls, with some caricatures on the wall – hand-drawn. There were some jugs and plates as ephemera, as well as a few brasses on the wood beamed fireplace. There was also a TV, but not on. The service was friendly, as were the locals within and the background music was mixed and at a decent level. Beer; tap stuff, with Bombardier, Abbots, Deuchars IPA and a decent enough Spekky Hen on handpull. This is a decent enough little back street boozer – to be fair, the best by far I visited that day and I would happily pop back in for another. I hadn’t visited for several years, nice to see it again.
