Manor Hotel, Rotherham

This very impressive Sam Smiths pub is partly hidden behind an overgrown hedge, and it took me a while to find the correct entrance. There are three interconnecting rooms, a lounge, public and function room. The main room has a high, vaulted ceiling and a full size snooker table, as well as pool and three dart boards. There's the usual Sam's line up, but with no real ale. The dark mild box was present and lit up but no beer was on, so I went for the keg Old Brewery, which was priced at £3 a pint. It makes a pleasant change to find a pub with a "no dogs" policy, and children are only allowed until 7pm. It almost seems worthwhile having to manage without your mobile phone.
