The Lumley Arms, Rotherham

A large Sam Smiths pub on the edge of town, with a lounge at the front and a bigger public bar at the rear with pool and snooker tables, and - in two alcoves - darts too. The vaulted ceiling, as in the other Sams pub in Maltby, makes this an impressive room. As at the Manor Hotel, no dogs are allowed, or children either, except in the garden and (in the case of dogs) on a lead. There's no real ale here either, but at least the Sams Dark Mild was on, at a very reasonable £2.20 a pint. Date of visit: 1st October 2022
