The Ship Victory, Chester

A seemingly out of place detached pub, with white exterior and black paintwork, surrounded by a car-park and not much else, like it survived a redevelopment. The inside is open plan, with the 70s white artex and beam look, together with what looks like a 70s carpet, the old copper type tables and a piano - it is class. There are, not a shock this, pictures of Nelson and Victory on the walls, amongst other things, as well as Sky TV. Service was fine, clientele absent. Beer; usual tap stuff, with a decent enough Tetley Dark MILD. Chose this as the handpull choice was limited to Tetley Cask and Ruddles County. The pub is worth seeking out, it is on the edge of the city centre. We always visit when in Chester.

This is a little gem small and cozy with very nice well kept beer and lager, very friendly staff, has entertainment at the weekend including a very popular karaoke, jam sessions and live singers, it also has a piano by the bar that is played by some very good pianists from time to time, the landlord and landlady will always find some event to put in the pub for the charity Miles of smiles and Breast cancer charity.
