The Station, Mexborough

Open again after planning permission for flats upstairs and bar downstairs. The builders were still working upstairs today, but downstairs there's a cafe bar with modern decor and furnishings, and a kitchen which does takeaways as well as pub meals. It's very smart and of course there's no cask beer, so I had a pint of keg Stones, which is much more like the cask version than it used to be, and only £3.50 a pint. If this is what it takes to keep the pub open, and young people frequenting it, then I'm all for it.
