The Gate Inn, Mexborough

The Gate is a nice looking white painted pub. Once inside the pub has been opened out but still retained different drinking areas,i propped the bar up,this area was quite narrow and for drinkers,the rear was set up for diners but you could drink anywhere. There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Chantery New York Pale ale,this was a really nice drink,the other beer was Taylor Landlord. The pub was very busy with both drinkers and diners on my early Saturday evening visit. This is a nice smart looking pub that had a bit of an old worlde feel to it. Pub visited 7/9/2013
