The Liverpool Arms, Chester

Apparently this is a well known gay pub, but I saw little evidence to suggest this on a Thursday afternoon visit. The pub is effectively a J shape with the central bar serving both areas. No real ale on my visit although there was a handpump. They were doing a decent food trade, mainly soup and sandwiches as far as I could see. It's just a basic locals pub and I won't be feeling the need to visit again.

The Liverpool Arms is a J-shaped pub with L-shaped bar that is stocked with standard and premium keg products. A single hand pump was drawing Weston’s Old Rosie Cider. Drink deals are advertised, and I saw no signs for food. The plasma screen was showing muted ITV whilst football was on Sky Sports in other pubs, so I imagine no live sports here. The was some background music playing and in the corner was some disco equipment. This is a basic boozer for locals.

I thought this pub may be closed given the 'pub to let' sign outside but it opened up later on. easily the quietest on this drag but that meant we could actually get a seat. friendly fun two sided pub though not especially good. Bombardier the only real ale on.
