The Cross Guns, Hanley, Stoke-On-Trent

The Cross Guns is a small pub with a central bar that serves bars to the left and right. I didn’t visit the left-hand side, but looking through the back bar it seemed to be a small thin space with red banquette seating, much like the right-hand side. However, I did spot a dartboard. In the right-hand side a television was showing Emmerdale. The walls are covered in brick patterned wallpaper and there is lots of football stuff up on the walls from Stoke and Port Vale. The landlady was very friendly, I don’t think I’d ever get board of being called duck in a Potteries accent. There’s not much to this place, but I thought the locals were welcoming and I’d have no problem returning.

The Cross Guns is a small pub that is set well into the back streets off keelings road. Once inside there was a long narrow bar to the right,the room had a very basic lino floor and leather bench seats,there was a small TV to the front left showing horse racing,there was a smaller lounge to the left. There was one real ale on the bar,this was Bass and it was a nice drink. I quite liked this pub and it was fairly busy on my Saturday afternoon visit. The pub is up for sale at the moment.
