Our visit was early lunchtime on an October Monday: a largely venerable clientele was gathered,discussing the death of an actress from Last of the Summer Wine. I fitted in well as Compo. We'd traveled from Kent, only to find the beer of the week had come up from Sussex-Burning Sky's epic and heavyweight Aurora..This was followed by an upstanding Stonehouse Station bitter.Unfortunately, no beers from Salopian were available,an omission compounded by other pubs during our week in the county. Grub was good, the welcome warm and jolly.I'd return.
