The Black Boy Inn, Bridgnorth

The Black Boy Inn is a nice looking pub that is situated on the nice looking Cartway. Once inside there is a single U shaped room with the bar on the right side,the floor is tiled,there is bench seating and normal tables and chairs. There were six real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Purity Gold,which went down well with a cob,the other real ales were Wye Valley Butty Bach,Hobsons Bitter,Black Boy Bitter,GK ST Edmunds and one more i failed to read my notes of. Background music was playing. The pub was very busy on our Saturday afternoon visit. Pub visited 29/4/2017

This was the only pub visited in the Low Town after making the descent on the nearby Cliff Railway. As described below it consists of two areas with a more or less island bar and red tiles in the area I was in. The bar has six hand pumps which had Belhaven Burns Brown, GK XX Mild & Yardbird, a house Black Boy Bitter, Sadler's Detox and Holden's Golden Glow. I went for the Golden Glow (£3.20) which was in great condition. I thought the beer choice here was rather disappointing, why three beers from the GK stable? I also thought it was slightly on the trendy side but it looked like the choice of pubs is not as good in the Low Town as it is in the High Town.
