The Blue Boar , Witney

The Blue Boar is a large looking pub that is just along from the Eagle Vaults. Once inside we entered an oblong shaped room which runs the width of the pub,there is a narrow raised area to the front which faces the bar this has bench seating facing the bar and tall chairs opposite it,the rest of the seating is low leather settees to the left which are very uncomfortable to sit on. There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Brakspear Oxford Gold which was a decent enough drink,the other beer was Hobgoblin. My brother commented that the pub seemed more like a coffee shop than pub and i was the only person drinking beer when it was very busy on a Saturday dinner visit. All in all a pretty poor pub probably best left for the coffee drinkers. Pub visited 16/5/2015
