White Lion, Bicester

After a lengthy crawl of Greater Manchester the previous day, where Good Beer Guide pubs regularly have 6 or 7 real ales on, it was a bit of a disappointment to find that Good Beer Guide pubs in Oxfordshire really don't cut it. Just the one real ale was on in this particular pub. That was Wye Valley HPA. It's a nice village pub with a pretty garden at the rear. In fact, we decided to move out to the garden. Those inside seemed to be fairly posh bores spouting rubbish. So, I preferred the piece and quiet that the garden offered. Opening hours are fairly limited here. So, perhaps they were winding down for their Monday and Tuesday closure. In fact, I don't think they were due to open again until Wednesday evening. Such is Oxfordshire village life, I guess.
