The Nag's Head, Abingdon

This pub is in a great location on Abingdon bridge, next to the River Thames, just a three minute stroll from the market place. In the summer the steamers from / to Oxford go from here and it has a lovely large garden next to the river. Quite comfortable inside with seating on two levels. Large screens show Sky Sports most of the time. The pub has a pool table, usual machines and does reasonable food seven days a week. They have a choice of four real ales, sometimes including some more unusual ones, but often it's the usual Greene King choice. The pub has a free water font in the bar for customers to help themselves and plastic cups are provided for this. Is currently selling Fosters at £2.15 a pint and John Smiths Smooth (Yuk!) for £2.10. A pleasant pub but often the service is a little on the slow side and it does get busy at weekends with young locals when it can get quite quite boisterous.
