The Station Hotel, Nottingham

The station hotel is a huge pub a two minute walk from Hucknall tram stop. The pub has two large separate rooms in a bar and lounge style. The lounge is very under filled and seems to have a lot of open empty spaces, not helped by it being very empty on my Saturday afternoon visit. There was one real ale on the bar from Caledonia brewery but I cannot remember which one. I decided not to try this as my gut instinct told be i would regret it, I wish i had now. Instead I opted for a pint of keg Theakstons mild which I thought was very expensive at £3.10 for a 3.5% keg mild. it was a fairy nice drink though. this pub seems quite dated and does not seem to attract a very large crowd for its size and thus results in a very slow, dead atmosphere. It is good to at least see one ale on the bar, usually this sort of establishment would not have one but some modernization and money being spent on it is really needed. It was ok for a quick beer but nothing no return for.
