Lord Roberts, Nottingham

I was here twice in the space of six months, so must have been impressed enough to recommend it to a friend for the second occasion. My notes made at the time are a bit sketchy, but my photos suggest that I found the interior attractive. It's a pre-war building with a bit of art deco about it, and the way the interior has been refurbished makes the most of this. Smart modern furniture was in contrast to the 1920s theme in the pictures on the walls, but it all seems to work somehow. The bar had three hand pumps, with Pedigree on both occasions backed up by local beers from Blue Monkey and Navigation in 2021 and Milestone in 2022. My notes from the first visit mention loud background music in modern styles, but this didn't put me off making a second visit. Dates of visits: 24th November 2021 and 10th May 2022
