Oscar's Inn, Newark

The best pub of the day. It had Jaipur on which is always a bonus for me. Definitely worth a revisit.

Oscars Inn is a large 30s built pub that was called the Horse and Jockey,this was one of a few pubs in Newark that i had not done in the past. Once inside there are two separate rooms,there is a decent sized lounge to the left which is square shaped with the bar on the right side,the room is roughly divided into two halfs by a wall,the seating is comfy bench type and chairs and a couple of leather settees,the bar room to the right was not in use on my Thursday afternoon visit. There was a very good choice of real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Oakham JHB which went down very well,the other beers noted were Butcombe Bitter/Butcombe Gold,Thornebridge Jaipur,Newark Oscars Ale and one from Revolution. There was quiet background music playing and the lounge was very busy on my Thursday afternoon visit. I quite liked this pub,well worth the shortish walk. Pub visited 2/6/2016
