The Rufford, Mansfield

Large, imposing roadhouse on the Chesterfield Road heading out of town. Real ale has been discontinued here, leaving this to be a spacious family and food-focused pub with TVs and some of those sweet machines scattered around to entice the brats. The keg selection was Carling, San Miguel, Stella Artois, Guinness, Moretti, Carlsberg & Tetley's Smooth. I couldn't even find a keg cider. Although there were bottles. The 3 female bar staff outnumbered the customers, of which there was only one other. At the rear is a large car park and surprise, surprise, a children's play area. Speaking to locals in the Railway later, they declared that this used to be a decent pub for ales and it was even in the Good Beer Guide back in 2011. Alas, its direction has taken a distinct downward turn since then.
