The Locomotive, Wellingborough

The Locomotive is situated on th eastern edge of Wellingborough,it takes about a 15 minute walk from the middle of town to get here. Once inside there is a smallish L shaped lounge to the front,the bar faces,there were normal tables and chairs to the right and two leather settees and posh looking chairs to the left,the room was carpeted, there was a piano opposite the bar,the TV was showing tennis from Wimbledon. There is a seperate square shaped room to the rear left,there were chairs along one wall and two leather settees,there was also a bar billiards table and Northant's skittles. There was a decent choice of real ales on the bar,i had a drink of J Church Gold Testament which went down very well,the other beers were Salopian Darwens Origin,Abbeydale Absolution,a beer from Marstons and Doom Bar,there was also some real Cider on the bar. The front room was fairly busy with locals. I thought this pub was well worth the walk. Pub visited 21/6/2014
