A superb, historic boozer with an unmolested and traditional interior featuring real billiards and a real fire as well as exposed beams. The place was very busy on our midweek visit with many seemingly regulars. Beers on were: Adnams Ghost Ship and Broadside, Thwaites Lancaster Bomber and Woodfordes Wherry. A fairly dull selection perhaps unsurprisingly for a pubco. Disappointingly the Ghost Ship was in appalling condition and I couldn't get through the pint which brought my visit to a premature end.

Ye Olde Sun is a really nice looking pub from the outside. Once inside it gets better,there is a small single room which is divided into three areas,the bar faces on entry and is in the middle area,there is a bar billiards table in the left side which was being used,i would have loved to have a go on it as it has been a long time since i have,the floor is tiled and the ceiling is very low and beamed,there is also a very small snug to the rear. there was a good choice of real ales on the bar,we had a drink of York Terrier which went down very well,the other beers were Brains Phonics,Adnams Ghost Ship,Woodfords Wherry and Grainstore Ten Fifty. This is a top notch pub that is well worth a visit. Pub visited 4/6/2016

Given the Whitbread badge above the pub sign I wasn't expecting much from this one but it hadn't been completely ruined twenty or thirty years ago and turned out to be a good pub. It's a single room but split into different areas with a tiled floor, low ceilings & beams and a brick fireplace. There is a tiny snug at the back with low tables and chairs. The bar billiards table on the left as you enter looked rather worn and under used. The bar has six hand pumps which on my visit had Fuller's London Pride, Adnam's Ghost Ship, Woodforde's Wherry, Nethergate Priory, York All Seeing Eye and Grainstore 1050. I went for the 1050 which was in excellent condition and good value at £3.10 in a London commuter belt town. On the day this was my favourite pub visited in St Neots.

A cosy little traditional pub, apparently dating back to the 17th century, with the bar counter behind the public bar which to the right and the lounge bar in the middle, with a bar billiards area to the left and a little four-table restaurant area behind, and a small patio garden to the rear. My Monday afternoon visit found a friendly welcome and a great atmosphere. Ales were the fruits of six handpulls: Woodforde Wherry and Admirals’s Reserve, Adnams Lighthouse and Ghost Ship, Marstons Old Empire and Itchen Valley Russian Winter. I found the Admiral’s Reserve and Russian Winter to be in really good nick, at £3.10/pint. Food is also served at meal times, with mains on the menu coming in at about £6.50-£7.50, and pickled eggs (rather good at 40p a go) and other snacks available behind the bar. I can well understand why this is Cambridgeshire CAMRA’s current pub of the year. I’d certainly come back here if in the area again.
