The Bay Horse Inn, Pickering

After weeks of persuasion we finally travelled from Whitby to Pickering by Steam train, and had lunch here on Bank holiday Monday. The front room was a traditional lounge with a gentle atmosphere. I had the Tetley's Bitter and the women drank Old Speckled Hen. Also on offer was Abbots Ale and John Smiths Bitter. The meal was very enjoyable but we did wait a while for it to be served. The back room was noticably empty and although the bar was of traditional style the room was a bit bare.
