The Trafford Arms, Norwich

A 1940s rebuild of an original lost to wartime bombing, it is in brick and occupies a corner site but is roughly triangular or a shallow V shape. A handy display tells you the history including its post war rebuilding in two parts so trading could continue. The counter is V shaped and one face is dedicated to three T-bars of your favourites plus some interesting stuff including one from Salt in Bradford. Ten pulls grace the other part of the V with a selection of beers from local and more distant breweries, London Pride was proving popular on my visit and as it’s Norfolk Woodfordes Wherry was there, the others were a bit more interesting with Lacons, Slaters and other small concerns making an appearance. Furnished in a variety of styles, but all traditional materials, cream coloured walls. A very decent, well run locals pub and the high pump count, and good quality beer assure it of a GBG entry. It had a mobile pizza stall outside doing good trade on my mid week early evening visit.
