The Leopard, Norwich

A good looking street corner boozer,L shaped inside with a mix of traditional furniture and some nice touches like the illuminated Yates sign pointing to the toilets and the two Watney Red Barrel keg dispensers which were actually pouring decent craft keg beers. The handpumps were offering Black Iris Till the Bitter End,Mr Winter Chin on Bar (NBSS 3.5),Derby Mercia,Kent Comfortably Plum,Bowline Tropical Deluxe .There were a total of 7 craft kegs too. Deserves its 2023 GBG listing,should be included on any real ale crawl.

A good, solid beer exhibition locals' pub, if that's not a contradiction in terms. Nicely furnished and well-kept, as is the beer with a good range from far and wide. Although I prefer to drink local brews I was tempted by a Kent Brewery Comfortably Plum stout, which didn't disappoint. Well worth a visit.

A beauty on the outside with distinctive green and white paintwork. However the sparse U-shaped interior is quite a bland light wood modern refurb, though positive features include big herringbone flooring and some racing green and off white colour scheme. Eight pumps with four ales on via table service which I found perplexing given the size of the place. My Moongazer Pond Hopper was again, like a number of Norwich pubs that weekend, under-par (NBSS 2.5) - thin and clearly not turning over. Visited early August.

A pub that has clearly been modernised internaly resulting in losing a large amount of any character it may have once had. There are eight handpumps on the bar four of which were occupied with a reasonable range of beer I ommited to note at this stage of an evening visit, the beer I chose was though was Brass Castle Misfit (Citra & Comet}, this was in good condition. The pub itself didn't really do it for me and was one of a very small number of pubs that didn't live up to my expectations.

Had a superb night in the newly reopened and renovated Leopard. The place looks simply amazing, the pool table has gone and there was a roaring wood burner, there were lots of great ales and a really friendly vibe. I'll definitely be back!
