West End House, Ely

Attractive,low ceiling local with four drinking rooms,three of which are served by the central bar.The interior is very traditional with a real fire in the main saloon.Five handpumps including London Pride,Spitfire,Adnams Bitter and Courage Directors all in good condition.Beer range varies and next up were Doom Bar,Black Sheep and Woodforde's Wherry but the ales served here do appear to come from a distributors list,hence a lot of national brewers ales and few from local micros.Musak also played too loud but these are minor criticisms of a decent pub.Very lively Jack Russell lives here !

Well worth a visit, a good range of beers which should cater for all tastes. The bar area and toilets kept spotlessly clean. A lovely sheltered walled garden which is a delight to sit in. I have always found a very warm welcome when visiting the West End.

We paid for food and drink for a family celebration at this pub. the service was poor. They were not welcoming and treated us as though we were a nuisance. This is a pub that is only interested in their regular drinkers If you are a regular it is ok. If not dont bother. there are plenty of other pubs in ely which will value your custom.
