ReviewThe Foundry Arms is a white rendered building that could be Victorian, or much earlier. I suspect that it is a Georgian structure.
Internally, there are two rooms, a bar area which you come into when you enter the pub, and a restaurant area. It is a long narrow building and the restaurant area cuts the long room in two. It is decorated in cream and is nice and light - feeling freshly decorated. On the right as you enter is a games area with pool table and dartboard. The games area is separated from the rest of the bar by a free standing fireplace.
Like many pubs in the area, there were a group of friendly, talkative, locals sitting at the bar. The bar staff were friendly, the young barman going out of his way to welcome you into the pub and ensuring that two elderly ladies who had popped into the pub for a bite to eat on the offchance got a seat in the fully booked restaurant area.
Beerwise, there is the usual stuff, plus three real ales, Humpty Dumpty Humpty Dumpty's Ale, and three Woodforde's beers, Wherry, Nelson's Revenge and Brew 78. The Humpty Dumpty, Wherry and Nelson's Revenge were delicious!
We ate in the bar area and the food was faultless and very filling!
This is another quality pub in Norfolk!
