Mother of Invention, Manchester

The Freemount is a small single roomed bar with a serving counter up the right that supports premium and craft keg. There’s seating to the left, and also a piano. There was a live band taking rock music requests during a recent Tuesday night visit. There was actually a decent sized crowd in so this is a popular venue, but I don’t plan on revisiting.

Now changed to The Freemount which is vastly different to The Northern. It's still one big room, but much brighter than before. There's a mix of high and dining tables, a piano and a huge TV screen that was turned off on my visit. There are now two handpumps, but only one on serving Pomona Island Stout at a rather steep £2.20 for a half. Much better than before, but it'll still not be a regular haunt.
