absolutley brilliant pub, the best in eccles with the friendliest and most helpfull staff you could meet. 5 stars.

Stopped off here last night for a bar meal, following a trip to Guisborough. The Black Sheep and the Game Pie with Vegetables were rather good. Traditional bar area and pleasant atmosphere.

The "Duke of York" reopened in September 2006 by partners Robert Ashton & James Sales. The pub has undergone a major refurbishment since it reopened. The pub now has an age limit of 21 and over and enforces a strict dress code on the weekends. The pub provides 4 nights of entertainment (details @ dukeofyorkeccles.co.uk), Fresh Home Cooked Food, Free Juke Box, Games Room, Billiard Room and Function Room - catering for upto 80. Work is Currently being carried out on the Hotel Section of the building and is due for completion in March 2008. The "Duke" has an excellent atmosphere with a great community feel.
