The Beehive, Tottenham, N17

Visited 02/06/25 Three hand pumps, two non-dispensing on my visit, the other offering Five Points Best Bitter. Something called Cow Catcher was advertised as "coming soon". The keg option was Guinness, Fosters, Red Stripe, Moretti, Neck Oil, Five Points Pale and Jupa from Five Points and Inch's cider. Tudor style venue just off the High St. inside it is fully bare boarded, roughly a square for the main bar area with the bar counter occupying the area in the front left-hand side of the venue so providing tall stool seating on its two sides. Seating in the rest of the room was via regular tables and chairs with the odd high table and interesting shaped leather tall, backed stools dotted around. Leaded glass windows at the rear provide a nice look through to the rear beer garden, which was paved and had a large pergola cover with lights wound round the woodwork. There was rather curiously a Guinness Photo Booth in the rear right-hand corner and a fire grate in the front right-hand wall. Off to the right of the main bar area was another room described as the VIP Room. Not obviously in play but it did house a pool table and dart board and a large projector screen. A couple of TV's were showing Sky Sports News absent sound that instead provided by a rather loud rock'n'roll soundtrack. There was a large, as described function room, behind the main bar area. Not in use on my visit but with a fair load of regular tables and chairs and Chesterfield sofas. A glimpse of a bygone pub era it felt here, glad I visited but can't see I am likely to find myself in here again.

Interesting inter-war pub built in traditional style with a Brewers' Tudor facade, set slightly oddly in a side street. Retains most of its original layout, with two separate bars and a side room to the right, dark wood-panelling and coloured glazing in some doorways. Also has a good-sized rear beer garden, handy when it gets busy for games at the nearby stadium. The cask Five Points Pale had just run out as I ordered, but thankfully Siren's Momento (£5.50) was pouring from another of the three handpumps that I could see.
