The Pubb, Stoke Newington, N16

The previous guise of this place as Satchmo’s is still evident as the old sign is still up on the exterior wall, but this place is now called The Palatine. There are sofas and armchairs in amongst the more conventional seating and some mood music was playing in the background. One of the hand pumps on the bar is not used, but Redemptions Urban Dusk and Charles Wells Eagle IPA were both available from the other two pumps. There is also a selection of premium lagers and the Guinness was served well by the friendly barman. The lighting is pretty dim and most of the tables supported a wax covered wine bottle complete with candle, I’m not a fan as I think they are a bit tacky, but this is my own opinion. I’m not sure that I’ll bother returning here as there are better pubs in the vicinity.
