Auld Shillelagh, Stoke Newington, N16

This is certainly the thinnest pub I’ve ever been into and although it stretches back a fair way it doesn’t get any wider. A tiny bar area is located at the front and there is a limited standard draught selection from which I had a decent pint of Guinness. Amazingly they have managed to put up a projector screen on the front wall, but the picture quality was very poor. No need to worry though as there are some TVs down the length of the pub and these were showing football and the Ryder Cup. There was nowhere to sit during my Saturday afternoon visit as it was quite busy and standing at the bar was like being in a corridor, but there was a good atmosphere. I’m not sure that I’d return here as there are more comfortable places in the area.
