The York Arms, N20

This is a wonderfully traditional boozer that has been left in its original condition and not ruined by a refurbishment. It’s a good sized u-shaped pub that is split down the middle by the large bar. There is a TV each side for showing the football on Sky Sports and there is also a dartboard located by the entrance. A good sized beer garden can be found at the rear which is laid out with picnic tables and has some children’s toys dotted about. A solitary ale is available, but there is a good selection of standard draught and I’ve never had a bad pint of Guinness in here. I’ve found the staff to be consistently polite and the locals are a friendly down to earth bunch. This pub brings back memories of my childhood, sitting in the corner of the pub with half a coke and a packet of cheese and onion. There is even a fish van in the car park – Fantastic!
