This is a decent enough pub with friendly bar staff and harmless regulars. The Adnams was off, but Nethergate IPA and Friggin in the Riggin were available alongside a selection of standard draughts. The pub shows Sky Sports and there is a plasma screen in the main bar area and another in the pool table area to the left. There is a small decked balcony area out the back with stairs leading down to a good beer garden that backs onto the railway line. I was starving when I walked in so I ordered a chicken roast dinner which took an hour to arrive. I think that the barman had forgotten to take the order upstairs as some people sat by me had their roasts within ten minutes of ordering and when I mentioned that I was still waiting my food arrived very promptly. I wasn't really bothered though as I was watching the football and the roast was well worth the £6.95 that I had to pay for it. This is a good back street boozer and I would be very happy if this was my local.
