The Viaduct Inn, Hanwell, W7

A Fullers tied house with an interesting exterior ,some decent glazed tiling but incomplete stained glass in the window frames.The interior is less interesting and has suffered a crude refurb ,especially to the raised left section with modern ligfht fittings.Opposite the bar there is a long bench and some traditional tables and chairs while the right room is best to appreciate some wood panelling that still exists .The multiple doors hint at seperate rooms but any dividers are long gone,although the etched glass on the Jug & Bottle door is decent.There is a seperate room for live music,unvisited by me.Food available from the corporate Fullers menu. At the bar Fullers London Pride,ESB,"Gales" Seafarers and Spring Sprinter at a ludicrous £6,NBSS 3.In the GBG and maybe worth using on a crawl but not really a detination pub.

Beautiful tiled exterior, got soaked waiting for the traffic to clear to grab the snap so I hope you all appreciate it. Inside is fair; a nice bit of old dark wood panelled partitioning remains from its old multi-rom layout but it’s standard Fuller's stylings otherwise (interesting to note from a 2010 review elsewhere that a renovation binned some original etched glass). Seeing as the heavens had opened I decided a pint of Seafarers (NBSS 3.5) from the bank of four would do the job and it justified its GBG listing. Nice enough place, one of those that’s worth doing once but unlikely to nag you revisit unless you happen to be nearby (and how often is anyone nearby Hanwell?).
