The Duke of Kent, West Ealing, W13

This is a Fuller's pub, so there are no surprises on the ale front, with London Pride, Oliver's Island, and Red Fox (£2.10 a half) all on. They clearly do food, but I guess I must have been in too early to see a menu. This is a 1929 built, Grade II listed pub that's on CAMRA's Regional Inventory of pubs with historic interiors. Although this one's been opened up a bit, a lot of the original features are still present, such as the attractive fielded panelling on the walls, old fireplaces, and a lot of the original partitioning between the various rooms as well as the bar counter. The original layout is fairly clear to see I think, as there are still several distinct drinking areas. Furnishings are traditional tables and chairs. There's a garden at the back, but I didn't explore it. Although it's been smartened up somewhat by Fuller's, this is still a fine old traditional pub. It was quiet when I was in at midday during the week, but the service was friendly and I got the feeling it would still be a nice pub when it was busier.
