The Sir Michael Balcon (JD Wetherspoon), Ealing Broadway, W5

As Wetherspoons go, this is one of the better ones I would say, being smaller than most, and clean and tidy during my midweek mid-afternoon visit. There were six festival ales on during my visit, allowing me to sample a couple that had hitherto eluded me. In general, however, it was just like all other Wetherspoons in terms of food, furnishings and general decor. But I’m happy to go anywhere that provides such decent ale at such excellent prices and would have no hesitation in dropping in for another pint if I’m in the area again. I’m glad John McGraw posted the picture of the blue plaque, as I must confess to never having heard of Sir Michael Balcon before visiting this pub.

This place is smaller than the average Wetherspoons, but it has everything you'd expect from the large range of ale and standard lagers to the cheap food and pensioner crowd. There is some covered seating outside the pubs large glass frontage next to the main road.

Comfortable single bar Fuller's pub selling good food and beer.As with most Fuller's pubs it still retains its traditional look and feel.

For a Wetherspoon's this is not a bad pub.Small single bar with a seperate dining area.Fair range of real ales and the usual Wethernosh.Plaque of Sir Michael Balcon which is on the wall of Ealing studios after whom the pub is named.
