The Horseshoe Inn, SE1

Visited 19/11/25. Visited previously on 07/02/18. Cask here was two from Brakspear, the Oxford Gold and the Gravity plus then Tribute. Keg amounted to Heineken, Estrella, Camden Hells, Amstel, Guinness, Jubel peach lager, Cruz, Erdinger Weissbier, Moretti and Weston's Stowford Press cider. First visit here even though it is one of my locals for about 7.5 years! The venue is L shaped (not horseshoe shaped) with the bar counter following the shape of the venue along the rear wall. Bare boarded with regular tables and chairs around the window side perimeter with a dart board tucked into the far-right hand side corner. There is further seating and standing space off the left-hand edge of the pub. Was occupied by a private function on my visit. Upstairs there is a function room and even a sun terrace, but I have never ventured upstairs to check. There is good outside reasonably sheltered standing and seating via picnic benches out the front and side of the venue. The beer quality was good and whilst I have never found Brakspear's quaffs super attractive , they were well kept here so I shall be back for sure by the early 2030's!

A pleasantly airy pub on a springlike mid May Saturday afternoon:busy, with a youngish clientele.We sat on the roof terrace, enjoying a satisfactorily old school pint of Brakspear's Gravity. Yes,I'd agree that it was pricey:our mixed round equated to £3 per half. That apart, a pleasant interlude.

Tucked away down a side street, this wasn't a bad place. Couple of hand pumps, the rest keg. Outside seating to the right side.
