The Three Johns, N1

The Hobgoblin is a large open plan pub with a leaning towards music with DJs playing on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights and regular live music. I visited on Saturday night a couple of weeks ago and the genre was jazz and blues that seemed to be going down better with the DJ than most of the other customers which probably explained why it wasn’t that busy. When football is on it is shown on the projector screen and plasmas that are dotted about and can be seen from most of the sofas and more conventional seating that is found throughout. There is also a room at the rear that houses a pool table. I found the staff to be friendly and the Guinness was well served. More standard draught is also available alongside some premium lagers and Hobgoblin is available from the hand pump. This place used to be called Jay Cubed but changed its name to Hobgoblin circa 2007. This is not really my scene so I doubt that I’ll return.
