Another pub that leans toward the gastro end of the scale,fairly well populated on my visit on a Saturday afternoon.The beer here is decent but pricey ,half a 3.9% Beavertown Benzerra set me back £2.30, but it was good,as for the unisex toilets, no problem, when you've got to go you've got to go! Not a pub I would make a beeline for again but worth a beer if you're passing and you're wallets fat.

I was impressed! decent beer, decent food and wife friendly. We ended up here after failing to find a pop up pub near by. The 4 of us managed to find a table quickly, ordered beer and food, which arrived just as quickly and tasted pretty good. My second pint was very cloudy, but tasted great and I assumed it to be the style. There were no ill effects later so I also assumed I was correct. Unisex toilets are OK, the ladies didn't seem to mind and neither did I. Things have changed a bit since the pictures on this site were taken. Outside now has a huge lean to tent for smoking and drinking. that extends right down one side of the pub. Everybody happy, would use again.

No longer a brewpub but they still have Beavertown beer. Very busy but they were launching a new beer. Have found their beers bit hit and miss and now very expensive. Unisex toilets are something I associate with cheap foreign holidays not hipster Hackney.

Another brewpub, and this was a popular and there were 2 cask ales from their own Beavertown brewery. We had the 8 ball Rye IPA and Elbow Grease. One of them was a bit of a pea souper and I went back with it, and found the clip had been moved to a keg, but the staff wouldn't change it and said it was now a keg beer. It was busy with food orders and I felt they couldn't be bothered with my query. Would give it another go though, maybe earlier in the day when not so busy.

Formerly the Duke of York, Dukes Brew and Que is a relatively new brew pub and home to the Beavertown Brewery. It’s a single room pub with bare floorboards and a couple of rows of standard tables and chairs running the length of the room. Large windows on one side of the pub should let in a good deal of light, but the overcast weather and exterior awnings sheltering the outdoor seating area meant that it was actually quite dark inside on my early evening visit. The servery is to the right of the front door and there is a brick fireplace opposite which has been filled with potted plants. At the rear of the pub you can view the open kitchen which was busy serving up BBQ/grilled food to a good number of customers, many of whom seemed to have booked tables in advance. You can also see some brewing vessels opposite the kitchen. Stairs lead down to the unisex toilets, taking you past a collection of retro items including old radios and a pram. A unique feature in the toilets is the sink which is actually an old tin bath with pedal operated taps. There were five cask ales on when I arrived – Beavertown Neck Oil and Elbow Grease, Dark Star APA, Truman’s Swallow and Swift and Tiny Rebel Urban IPA. I tried a half of each Beavertown beer, served in dimpled half pint mugs, although neither really grabbed me. Beavertown Alpha Series and Smog Rocket were available on keg, as were Thornbridge Jaipur, Brooklyn Lager and other craft style brews. A box of Sandford Devon Scrumpy was propped up on the bar back. This pub felt more like a place to eat than to enjoy a drink, which is a shame because the drinks range is certainly worth a bit of exploration. Having said that, I did visit on a Saturday evening so perhaps my timing was poor and I certainly wouldn’t complain at the prospect of a return visit.
