The Prince, West Brompton, SW6

This building replaced an older Victorian pub in 1938, according to the CAMRA description, and survived being demolished again this century by bring registered as an ACV in 2016. No attempt to sell traditional cask beers, though. A dreadful selection from the likes of Camden, Budweiser and Mahou, so I went for a half of Guinness, until I spotted the card terminal stating £7.45 just as it went beep. I got a refund of £3.80, which sweetened the pill a little, but it's still not a very good beer. To be fair, it wasn't too cold, possibly because it was a new keg just been put on, so it was at cellar temp rather than chiller. This is a big building with a bigger garden, the brick walls stripped, and fake ivy climbing the frames in the garden. There's a terrace in front to watch traffic going past on sunny days. No thanks.

A large pub on a busy street corner trying to be hip by removing "of Wales" from the name,the front seating terrace has an entrance to the tap room which is rather antiseptic and featureless.The wooden floored interior is L shaped with modern wooden furniture ,some high tables and drinking shelves with some large doors to an external beer garden.There is an upstairs room called The Loft,unvisited by me,and there is a lower level seating area down some steps with it's own door and the loos. The food offering was asian seemingly at decent value but the bar was ale free,standard kegs apart from a decent Two Tribes Campfire served in a heavy,ornate glass which made the half look bigger. Staff friendly but nothing to warrant another visit.
