My visit here a couple of weeks ago was my first for some years and I’m glad to report that I thought it had much improved. I found the barman to be polite and there was a good mix of people in watching the Championship game on the two plasma screens. I would have preferred it if they had put the sound on and got rid of the inane chart music, but to be fair there were probably more people not watching the footie than were. Greene King IPA, Abbot, Directors, Bombardier and Broadside were all available along with a standard draught selection and my Guinness was well served. There is always going to be a transient crowd in this pub due to its location opposite Baker Street station and it has a reputation as a session pub before games at Wembley, but I will still pop back in for a pint or two when next passing – just not on match day.
