Queen In The West, Lincoln

A back street local on the western edge of town, as the name suggests, a multiroom pub on a corner with a reputation for real ales. It has changed hands and at the time of my visit there were bits of refurbishment still going on, with the left hand room (on Newland St) occupied by builders and such and only the right hand side (on Moor St) in use. There were four beers on the bar, two national brands and two from not so far (see photo). I had a half of Batemans XXXB, my first for a while, and it went down a treat (NBSS 4). I look forward to coming back some time when the place is less chaotic. (I hope they'll have enough money left to replace the amplifier or loud speakers, as one or other - possibly both - were well past their best-before date.) Date of visit: 21st February 2024
