The Reindeer Inn, Grantham

A corner pub a bit smaller inside than the outside suggests, a classic thin L shape with the L shaped counter in the apex. No cask beer although there are two unused hand pumps, otherwise just the usual group of low end national kegs. Lots of screens and old photos, there’s a nice collection of traction and stationary engine photos on pineapple wallpaper in the long end of the L, I believe they all relate to various incarnations of the Hornsby company as they were Grantham based. There’s a dart board and pool table at the end of the short length of the L otherwise not much more to say, it’s certainly a popular pub with it’s chosen demographic.

The Reindeer Inn is a long and thin pub with banquettes under the front windows and up the right-hand wall opposite a pool table and two dartboards to the left. The counter found mid-way up the left-hand wall supports standard and premium keg as well as two hand pumps that were unused. More banquettes and a high table are found at the rear, but all the seating was empty because the locals in attendance were all nattering at the bar while random background music played. The televisions throughout were all off during a recent late Tuesday afternoon visit, but I imagine sport is shown when available. I thought this place forgettable, in fact it was only the third pub of the day and I’m struggling to remember it.
