The Noel's Arms, Melton Mowbray

The Noel's Arms is an old corner pub and music venue that consists of a single wooden floored room with a couple of dart boards, a pool table and a stage for the music events. There was a TV screen towards the rear that was playing music videos from the 1960s. It was quiet on my Saturday afternoon visit. The bar has six hand pumps which had two unused, Doom Bore and Belvoir White Knuckle Ride, Beaver & Star. I tried the White Knuckle Ride and Beaver (both £3.10) which were tasty and excellent. I was told that they no longer do CAMRA discount here but the prices were cheaper than other local pubs apart from the JDW. I quite liked this place and got the impression it is still being renovated but I would avoid it on music nights.

Fine alehouse and music venue, with a partially opened-out interior featuring two seating areas; the one at the front with a small stage for live music, and the bar in the back part. Appropriately rustic furniture and decor, and a very welcome real fire on a windy winter's day. Decent selection from the six handpumps, ranging from Doom Bar and John Smith's Cask to Star Quantum Leap, Springhead Drop o' the Dark Stuff and Oldershaw Grantham Porter (£2.80, with a Camra discount).

The Noel's Arms is a small corner pub that is almost opposite the Anne of Cleves pub. When i first went in this pub it was an Ind Coope tied house with real ales on the bar. The pub has recently reopened,it still has a single room with the bar on the right side,there were real ales advertised outside but we did'nt go in here as we had done in before.
